A rainbow
spills off the South Rim near Yaki Point during a late-summer sunshower.
Besides nurturing the plant and animal communities on
the rim and below, rain, gentle or otherwise, leaves the canyon’s
myriad colors looking even more brilliant. With only twelve inches
of annual precipitation a year (South Rim), rainbows are a true blessing
to visitors lucky enough to spot one.
