Blazing Butte
O'Neill Butte is the anchor for many quintessential views of Grand Canyon from the South Rim. This 6,072 foot butte is comprised of Hermit shale, and was first scaled by a group of climbers from British Columbia in 1962. This signature landform stands beside the South Kaibab Trail that descends from rim to river.
