Butte is the anchor for many quintessential views of Grand Canyon
from the South Rim. This 6,072 foot butte is comprised of Hermit
shale, and was first scaled by a group of climbers from British Columbia
in 1962. This signature landform stands beside the South Kaibab Trail
that descends from rim to river.
