Rainbows
are most often seen during the late-summer “monsoon” season
during which northern Arizona receives abundant rainfall.
The rainbow pictured here is lighting on O’Neill
Butte, named after Bucky O’Neill, an early
canyon resident who was killed at the Battle of San
Juan Hill under the command of future president and
Grand Canyon champion Theodore Roosevelt.
