O'Neill Butte Rainbow
Lasting Light: 125 Years of Grand Canyon Photography
O'Neill Butte Rainbow is featured in Lasting Light: 125 Years of Grand Canyon Photography Mike Buchheit's work is featured in both the book and companion art exhibit; the latter has recently joined the esteemed Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service.

Also in the book, Sinking Ship.
Rainbows are most often seen during the late-summer “monsoon” season during which northern Arizona receives abundant rainfall. The rainbow pictured here is lighting on O’Neill Butte, named after Bucky O’Neill, an early canyon resident who was killed at the Battle of San Juan Hill under the command of future president and Grand Canyon champion Theodore Roosevelt.
