The
Sinking Ship represents a visual and geologic anomaly
in a region dominated by horizontal rock layers.
Its apparent “list” is the result of
regional faulting and deferential erosion. A density
of archaeological artifacts in the Sinking Ship’s
immediate vicinity suggests that canyon dwellers
have been enjoying this unusual landmass for thousands
of years.
